Warranty Policy

12-Month Limited Warranty

Eligible products purchased directly from Topto.ca include a limited 12-month warranty beginning on the original purchase date.

This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship arising during normal and intended use. Coverage may vary by product, brand or manufacturer. Where a product includes a separate manufacturer’s warranty, the applicable manufacturer terms may also apply.

Your order confirmation or receipt serves as proof of purchase and may be required when submitting a warranty claim.

Optional Warranty Extension

Selected products may qualify for an additional 12 months of warranty coverage when the customer subscribes to the Topto newsletter and completes any required warranty registration.

Eligibility, registration deadlines and the applicable extended-warranty terms will be stated on the product page or provided at the time of registration. Newsletter subscription alone does not automatically extend the warranty unless the product is expressly identified as eligible.

Please include:

  • Your full name
  • Order number
  • Product name or model
  • A description of the issue

We may ask you to return the product for inspection or testing before approving a repair, replacement or other remedy.

Please do not return a product without first receiving return authorization and instructions from our support team.

Available Remedies

After reviewing the claim, Topto may, as appropriate:

  • Provide troubleshooting assistance
  • Repair the product
  • Replace the product or defective component
  • Offer another remedy permitted under the applicable warranty terms and consumer-protection laws

The remedy will depend on the nature of the defect, product availability and the applicable legal requirements.

Warranty Exclusions

This limited warranty does not cover damage resulting from:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Accidents, misuse, abuse or neglect
  • Improper assembly, installation or storage
  • Use contrary to the product instructions
  • Inadequate maintenance
  • Unauthorized modifications or repairs
  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect product operation
  • Damage caused by external events, including water, fire, electrical surges or natural disasters
  • Consumable parts unless the failure results from a manufacturing defect

The warranty also does not cover products purchased from unauthorized third-party sellers or products without valid proof of purchase from Topto.ca.

Assessment and Return Shipping

Products may need to be returned for assessment. We will provide return instructions after reviewing the initial claim.

If inspection confirms a covered defect, Topto will provide the approved remedy and advise whether return-shipping expenses are covered.

If the product is found not to be defective or the issue falls outside the warranty, the customer may be responsible for return-shipping or assessment-related costs. Any such costs will be communicated before the product is returned.

Consumer Rights

This limited warranty is provided in addition to any rights and remedies that may apply under the consumer-protection and sale-of-goods laws of the customer’s province or territory. Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or limit rights that cannot legally be excluded. Canadian guidance confirms that implied warranties are generally governed by provincial and territorial sales laws.

International and Third-Party Warranties

Manufacturer warranties may not always apply across national borders. Customers should review any manufacturer-specific warranty information shown on the product page or included with the product. The Canadian Office of Consumer Affairs notes that manufacturer warranties are often not valid from one country to another.
